Harry Whipp

Director

Harry has been in the mortgage industry since 2016 where he started as an administrator doing ad hoc tasks for a busy brokerage. He then moved on to become a Mortgage Case Manager where he dealt with busy brokers all over the country helping submit business & liaise with lenders on behalf of brokers.

After passing CeMAP in 2018, he went on to become a broker himself completing 3 years in an employed role dealing with standard & specialist mortgages before starting Essex Money!

Harry has experience in estate agency as well as mortgages which means he can guide clients through the whole buying process.

Michael Whipp

Mortgage and Protection Specialist

Mike started in the financial services industry in 1994 as a financial adviser before changing over to mortgage broking back in 1998 with Countrywide.
 
He has been a self employed mortgage and protection specialist ever since and works purely on a recommendation basis with over 22 years worth of clients who can’t speak highly enough of his service. As well as mortgages & insurance, Mike also specialises in Will Writing too!

Jamie Whipp

Protection Specialist

Jamie has worked in the financial services industry for over 25 years, primarily as a stockbroker, speaking to professional fund managers about equity investments. In recent years, Jamie has broadened his expertise and qualified as a mortgage broker, but is currently focusing on protection cases (life insurance, critical illness cover and income protection) for Essex Money.

Julie Bates CeMAP

Case Manager & Mortgage Broker

Julie is our superstar Mortgage Case Manager who has been with us since August 2022. She has spent the last 25 years working within financial services, 20 of those years working for JP Morgan where she picked up some invaluable experience. She deals with all our ongoing mortgage cases liaising with lenders & customers. She is also a CeMAP qualified adviser and has been advising with us since January 2023!

Case study
A married couple approached us looking to purchase a new residential home as they wanted to upsize and relocate. One of the clients was based in the UK and the other was a UK citizen who worked in China getting paid in US Dollars. We were able to get the mortgage through with a UK building society using the foreign income alone using the current conversion rates at the time. This allowed the client to purchase their new home and upsize to support their growing family.
Case study
Client approached us after being declined by 3 different high street banks due to previous adverse credit. The client had a history of county court judgements and missed payments on unsecured debt. Their mortgage rate was coming to an end and they needed to refinance onto a new fixed rate before going onto their existing lenders standard variable rate, but they were worried that their credit history would block them from getting a remortgage. We were able to place this client with one of the challenger banks who were happy to take on the mortgage even with the clients adverse credit history in a speedy timeframe.
Case study
Client came to us wanting to purchase a property via auction with the goal of completing and selling for a profit. We secured the client a bridge at 75% and managed to complete within 3 weeks from receiving the application form. Whilst having a 12 month term, the product had no early repayment charges so the applicant was able to exit earlier.
